I want to share two brief thoughts about language. First, I believe that words by their very nature are inherently inadequate. Yet they are the best tool we have for some forms of communication. Second, the blending of creativity and spirituality makes itself visible through certain word choices like “sacred”, “prayer”, and sometimes even “God”.
These words are conscious choices based on my belief in a power that we cannot see with our eyes.A power that is real, relevant, and far from religious. Sacred embodies the belief of our inherent value that exists beyond logic and capitalism. Life is valuable. Life is sacred. Period.
I offer the words and non-words on my website with the understanding that they are layered and subjective.They can limit as well as liberate. My hope is that my art, which often is framed in the first person, becomes a bridge from “I” to “you”. And, that it provides something meaningful to your path no matter how different we may appear at first glance. I invite you to take what sparks or sparkles, and leave the rest.
