Welcome! This page provides a catalog of verbal descriptions for the greeting cards I create. A QR code is available as a card insert– and photograph titles are listed below. Verbal descriptions use text or language to communicate visual information. It is an essential access feature for people with blindness or low vision.

Photo Titles:
Among the Trees
A portrait image of trees and a dandelion that has gone to seed. The dandelion is positioned with its long stem appearing to be the same size as the trees behind it. The fluffy white seeds blur a little as it blends with the green treetops in the background.
Animation
A landscape image entirely composed of deep blue waves that ripple with shades darkening to the right and bottom of the photo. Hundreds of sparkling bursts of light are sprinkled randomly throughout slightly more concentrated on the left. Several of the individual bursts resemble the sun with rays of light extending from their round center points.
Beyond the Edge
A landscape photo of trees and sky taken from below. Primarily leafless trees point diagonally inward to an opening in the partially cloudy blue sky. The top of an evergreen tree is positioned in the bottom center (6 o’clock). Deep green clusters of color punctuate wavy vertical branches extending upward. The pine clusters blend with the opening beyond – almost as a choice point for where to focus. A second tiny evergreen
tree top appears on the right at three o’clock. The length of tree trunks in the composition varies, with longer trunks and angles in the bottom left and right.
Cosmic Apple
A landscape abstract close-up of an apple top. A series of colors extends from the stem, some impacted by apparent shine. Light greens, lavender, blue, yellow and orange blur in this burst in contrast to the expected red background behind. A round dark ring tops the short, tan stem as it emerges from a small shadow where it connects to the apple,
slightly left of bottom center. The stem is angled toward the top right of the corner, accenting a burst of yellow color. A handful of tiny white dots speckle the red parts of the apple like stars.
Cosmic Cocreation
A landscape abstract acrylic mixed media creation with vibrant colors, spirals, and tiny spots (which are actually gold stars). Green blends to blues and blurs to purples, then red, orange, and yellow in sections around the image. Colors are interspersed with spirals of all sizes, some mixed with white, which lightens the palette and even appears cloudlike. Several dozen tiny gold spots/stars are scattered randomly throughout.
Dream
A portrait image captures a landscape featuring a series of textured layers. Predominantly blues, whites, off-whites, and grays, a thin blue mountain range silhouette divides the textures slightly over the mid-horizon of the photo. Above, bright and billowing poofy clouds blend with blue accents from the sky. Below the mountains, granular waves ripple the foreground with shadows that suggest movement or changing
depths in the surface, which seems like it could be sand though it is snow.
Enter at Your Own Bliss
A portrait photo captures a wooden arbor framing the left, top, and right of the image as a white stone path begins at the bottom and veers left. Throughout, green bushes and lush gardens are sprinkled with flowers. A red tulip, some yellow dandelions, purple clusters. A person is noticeable behind one of the arbor pillars in the distance of the garden. Colorful triangular flags are hung at an angle between the arbor’s sides; the
arbor is captured at a slight angle as well, contributing to a sense of shifting shapes. A small Buddha statue rests in the bottom right corner.
Faith
A close-up landscape image of a single dandelion seed against a dark green background. The whitish colored seed’s individual threads connect to the single thin light stem at the center of the photo. They extend as a couple dozen points, fanning out toward the upper right corner of the photo. The series of narrow “v” shaped seed points form an angled, almost half-circle that pops in sharp contrast from the soft focus behind.
Gifts 1
A landscape image featuring a red-tailed hawk in flight against a vibrant turquoise sky. The hawk’s wings are spread wide as it soars near the top right of the photo. The sun illuminates exquisite patterns of red, black and white feathers from the bird’s underside. Swirling details of the left wing are visible, whereas the right wing is seen more parallel to the horizon. The head and beak point to the center of the photo while the legs and feet join the torso streamlined under the fanned tail. The tail feathers appear rounded, golden even from the distant sun.
Hope
A close-up landscape image captures an illuminated lotus blossom. The flower’s opening emerges from just to the left of center near the bottom of the image; petals reach diagonally with varying shades of pale yellow and arc almost like a fan against a blurred green background. Several bright yellow stamen accent the inside of the flower.
Inside a Wish
A portrait image captures a close-up of a dandelion that has gone to seed. The round shape of the dandelion increases in clarity as it moves toward the center, extending beyond the photo on each side. It pops off a blurred green palette with the hint of a stem below it. In the center of the photograph, a collection of about a dozen seeds is in sharp focus with thin lines of fluff bursting like sun rays from the concentrated white centers. The white fluffy lines overlap one another in places, creating an abstract pattern through which the green palette provides a contrast.
Joy
A portrait image captures a close up of an open and blossoming tulip. The red petals round and roll from their yellow center and extend beyond the photo’s edges; several fuzzy yellow stamens are pictured in sharp detail. The green background is out of focus yet still reveals a blurred green stem at the bottom center.
Old Friends
A landscape image. In the foreground, dark silhouettes of two leaning willows shadow one another, bowing slightly left. They show as gnarled black outlines on a blue horizon. The image captures only the midsections of the leafless trees. A few jagged branches extend from the trunks and bend in various directions.
Singing in the Spring
A portrait photo with dozens of tulips in full bloom. Red, yellow, and combinations of these colors round and pop. The relatively straight, vertical green leaves and stems offer contrast. Many of the petals are illuminated by the backlit sunshine, which is out of view. Their edges appear like soft ruffles rising to honor the earth. A handful of buds
remain sprinkled throughout the image, patiently waiting.
Trusting the Waves
A portrait image. The entire image is shallow water, two small gentle waves moving in on the horizon. As the water crests for the first wave near the top edge, it appears to be a purplish blue color. It takes on a more brownish tone when it moves into the second wave near the center of the image. Shadows provide added depth to the curving waves that extend beyond the left and right edges. Reflections dance on the surface of the water illustrating additional movement. The reflections fade and make way for tiny white bubbles at the bottom of the photo. The view seems layered in horizontal colors, shades, and patterns of light.
